Band Member Biographies - Chris Roe

Guitar / Lead Vocals

I'm a Guitarist, Singer, Songwriter based in North East England. I started playing guitar when my parents bought me one whilst on holiday in Spain. The following Christmas all The Beatles films were on TV and I've never stopped playing since. Early years were spent playing in bands in Washington, Tyne & Wear. These came to a halt when our drummer went on the run after exposing himself in Public!

I then had the opportunity to move to LA so off I went.

In Los Angeles I played with some the music industries top professionals, such as members of Rod Stewart's band and PIL. Had songs featured on MTV and in films and on the radio both nationally and internationally.

I recorded and performed in L A and New York, with the likes of David Palmer (THE THE, Rod Stewart), Carmine Rojas (David Bowie, Rod Stewart), Steve Poliot (Fleetwood Mac), Bret Helm (P.I.L., Doctari, Jennifer Batten), and Pete Maloney (Dishwalla, Tonic).

In the progressive rock band "Sound Mind", we showcased and recorded extensively all over the local club scene, playing at all the top venues such as The Whiskey a go go, The Troubadour and The Roxy. We were featured several times on Local radio station KLOS' s "local licks" show. Working with producers Rudy Guess (Carole King), Alessandro Cecconi, and executive producers Barry Rosenthal (New Kids on The Block), and Montel Williams was also a fantastic and educating experience.

Recording and promoting the album "Casual Wear" whilst in the band Vynil resulted in airplay and distribution across America, Europe and Japan. Additionally songs were featured on MGM's "Fame L.A.", MTV's "Road Rules" and the song "Jane and the Goats" is currently featured in the critically acclaimed and award winning independent movie God, Sex and Apple Pie.

I also worked with singer songwriter Susan Sandberg promoting the album "Stripping for Jesus" from which the song "Hey Batter Batter" can be heard in the movie "There's Something About Mary". With Susan Sandberg, we played two weeks of sell out shows at House of Live in Paris, where we performed songs featured in the Adam Sandler movie Mr Deeds and from the Pamela Anderson TV show Mile High.

Since returning from America I have played in various original, cover and show bands all over the UK.

I am currently writing and recording a CD of original music I have written over the last few years with The Intervals.

I have recently achieved success playing in top north east band Hip Operation. Hip Operation have recently won the Best Band / Entertainment Category at the National Wedding Awards in London. Hip Operation played at Alan Shearer's 40th birthday party. The band's stellar performances at weddings, charity balls and corporate events have gained national recognition receiving fabulous accolades on the Chris Moyles show and other national radio stations. Hip Operation have also appeared a number of times for the Jordanian Royal Family, becoming their first choice for family celebrations.

I have always loved Blues and have been heavily influenced by all the great Blues guitar players. In late 2014 to take my love of blues music and blues guitar live I formed MojoRoller - a contemporary blues band.

A unique mix of modern guitarist such as Robben Ford, Matt Schofield, John Mayer and Oz Noy along with some classic Stevie Ray Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Freddie and Albert King. Mojo Roller is sure to be one of the most exciting new blues bands in North-East England in 2015.
